Want to get a library card? Here's how!
Residents of Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, non-Westchester residents who work in Tarrytown or Sleepy Hollow are eligible to receive a library card. Proof of current address is required to apply for a card.
Children may register for cards in the Children's Room. Your Library card entitles you to use any Westchester County Public Library and the Weschester Community College Library.
There is a $2.00 replacement fee for a lost card. Library materials may be returned to any public library in Westchester County.
- Books, audiobooks, and CDs may be borrowed for 3 weeks
- New fiction and non-fiction books for 14 days
- Express DVDs 3 days
- Videos and DVDs 7 Days
Starting June 21, you may borrow fiction and non-fiction adult books and keep them until September 13. Ask at the Circulation Desk for the Summer Loan period. New books, audio visual materials, children's books or books from other libraries are not included.

Items may be renewed one time.
Renewals may not be made on new materials or items on hold for other patrons.
If the item you wish to borrow is not currently available, you may place a reserve (hold) on it.
To place a reserve (or hold) you must supply the 14-digit barcode number on your library card. Your reserved items will be sent to the WLS Library of your choice for pickup. Please be aware that popular items may have many reserves on them, so you may have to wait a while for your reserve to be fulfilled. When it is your turn to check out the item, you must pick it up within one week or it will go on to the next patron.
Options to be Notified of Holds and Overdues
Please notify the circulation desk of your preference of an e-mail, phone call or a text message notification when either a reserved item arrives at the library or some material has become overdue.
Book and Audiovisual Drops
Library books may be returned in the book-drop located at the bottom of the ramp near the library parking area.
Audiobooks, DVDs, CDs and videos may be returned in the audio-visual drop.
Books $.25/day $5.00 maximum
Audiobooks & CDs $.25/day $5.00 maximum
DVDs & Videos $2.00/day $10.00 maximum
