Registration Policy
Residents of Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, nonresidents of Westchester County who work or go to school in Tarrytown or Sleepy Hollow, may register for a free library card. Proof of your current address is required. Children may register for library cards in the Children's Room.
Your library card entitles you to use any Westchester County public library and the Westchester Community College Library. There is a $2.00 replacement fee for lost library cards.

Loan Periods
Books, audiobooks, and CDs may be borrowed for 3 weeks, new fiction and new nonfiction for 14 days, and videotapes and DVDs for 7 days. The system allows one renewal on an item, provided there is no reserve request pending for another patron. You may return books to any of the WLS member libraries.

Book and AudioVisual (A/V) Drops
When the library is closed, books and nonbook items (CDs, DVDs, audiobooks) can be placed in the designated Drop Boxes located near the parking lot entrance to the library.

Overdue Charges
Fines are 20 cents per day with a maximum of $5.00 per book, $5.00 per CD. Overdue videotapes and DVDs are charged at $2.00 per day, with a maximum of $10.00 per item.

Lost Materials Policy
Full replacement cost will be charged for lost materials.
