Battle of the Sexes                                           January 24, 2pm
The 1973 tennis match between women's World #1 Billie Jean King and ex-men's-champ and serial hustler Bobby Riggs was billed as the BATTLE OF THE SEXES and became one of the most watched televised sports events of all time, reaching 90 million viewers around the world. As the rivalry kicked into high gear, off-court each was fighting more personal and complex battles. King was not only championing for equality, but also struggling to come to terms with her own sexuality. And Riggs wrestled with his gambling demons, at the expense of his family and wife.

Afternoon of Family Jazz with Darr Lilly

Jazz music is like a good bowl of gumbo. All the ingredients are from different cultures blending into a soul-pleasing mixture. Bring the entire family or just yourself to learn what jazz is and how you can enjoy it. Darr will play the clarinet, saxophone and cello.

A jazz enthusiast, theater artist, and teacher educator, founder of Jazz in the Afternoon Enrichment and bandleader of The Lilly Jazz Project brings Warner Library a touch of jazz.
