Homebound Service @ Your Library
Warner is now offering service to the homebound. If you are unable to leave your home due to illness or disability and would like a library staff member or volunteer to bring library materials to you, please contact the Reference Desk at 631 - 7734. As a homebound patron, you may borrow any Warner Library owned materials for one month. The Reference Librarian will help you select some books, music or films for you to enjoy.
The Warner Library is now providing fax services to all our patrons. This in-demand, easy-to-use, self-service is available by the reference desk.
This service, provided by Fax24, uses credit and debit cards for payment. For patrons that do not have credt/debit cards, pre-paid fax cards are available for purchase at the reference desk.
For faxes sent to the U.S, Canada or Caribbean, the price is $1.75 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page. International faxes are $3.95 the first page and $3.45 for each additional page.
The library has a digital scanner available for patron use. It is located in the reference area and attached to one of our job search computers. To use the scanner, please sign up at the reference desk and ask the staff for assisstance. There is no charge for this service.
To place a reserve (or hold) you must supply the 14-digit barcode number on your library card (see example at right). Your reserved items will be sent to the WLS Library of your choice for pickup. You will receive a your choice of a printed notice, an e-mail, or a phone call when the item arrives at your library. When a title you want is already checked out, you may be able to place a hold on it. Again, you must have your Library Card barcode number. When the item is checked in and it is your turn to check out the item, the library will notify you that it is available. If other library patrons have placed a hold on the item, you may have to wait until those who have requested the item ahead of you are able to check out the item. When it is your turn to check out the item, you must pick it up within one week or it will go on to the next patron.

Newspaper Articles & Magazine Stories, even Literary Criticism
The Westchester Library System makes available from its web site databases that provide access to over 2000 periodicals, many of which offer full text versions of articles of general interest and specific subject areas. Magazine and newspaper databases and online encyclopedias for adults and children are accessible.
The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Services allow you to obtain print materials, such as books and magazine articles, as well as microfilm of old newspapers, that are not owned within the Westchester Library System.
WLS does not charge for ILL Services, however certain lending institutions have loan policies that include charging fees or on-site-use-only restrictions. If they become our only options, you will be contacted for permission to proceed. You can cancel a request if you decline to pay the charge or do not want to use the material in the library.
The average time to obtain the materials is one to four weeks; some obscure materials may take longer to get. The time it takes depends on availability of the materials requested, location and staff situation of the owning libraries, and the type of delivery.
You may place an ILL request in person at any public library in Westchester County, or follow the appropriate link below to submit your request online. You can have the requested materials delivered to any WLS member library for you to pick up, but you must return the materials to the same library where they have been checked out.
