Diversity in Action: Children's Day Celebration is now on Oct 5, 2020 @ 6:30 pmLos Reyes del Austro is a family band that started in 2010 in the attic of a house on Deyester Street. Join us in welcoming the former Sleepy Hollow High Schoolers home! Explore the sounds of Ecuador through a live presentation. Take part in this family event, learn about culture through music, taste traditional snacks and more.

Día de los Niños / Día de los Libros Celebración ahora es el 5 de octubre, 2020 a las 6:30 pm/ Los Reyes del Austro es una banda que empezaron en un ático de una casa en la calle Depeyster en el 2010.  Felicitamos a la familia y su regreso al pueblo donde empezaron. Exploramos los sonidos de Ecuador a través de una presentación en vivo de Los Reyes del Austro. Un evento para toda la familia con la música, meriendas y mucho más.

Saturday, June 30  10:30 am - 2:30 pm  Babysitting 101 for Teens and Tweens

Learn the basics of babysitting: interviewing tips, communication skills, safety and first aid tips, and feeding and caring for children, including diaper changing. All participants will receive a certificate at the end of the 4-hour class.


Saturday, July 18 @ 2 pm   When in Rome! Exploring the Art of Ancient Rome 

A introduction to the art and history of Ancient Rome, travel back in time and visit famous landmarks, learn about the destruction of Pompeii, and investigate how images and ideas from Ancient Rome still impact all of us today. Marisa covers architectural details in an accessible way for all students to understand.  The program includes the opportunity to touch and interact with authentic 2,500-year-old artifacts.


Tuesday, August 4 @ 2 pm  Amazing Reptiles

Come and meet a variety of interesting reptiles to touch and learn about, including Julius Squeezer our 13 foot Burmese Python.



Tuesday, August 18 @ 2 pm  Henna for Teens

For centuries mehndi the art of henna painting on the body has been practiced in India, Africa, & the Middle East, where the henna plant is believed to bring love & good fortune, and to protect against evil.  Everyone will get his or her own henna tattoo.

Kanopy | Richland Library Warner Film Series @ Home: 

Every Wednesday we will post a suggestion for streaming from Kanopy, a free online streaming service available with your library card.




Opera Online: Join a Zoom session with Susan Grunthal and learn the history of great opera composers Verdi and Wagner. Fridays in May, from 12:00-1:30pm. Free. Contact Cassandra Troini at to get a Zoom invite.


Mystery Book Group-Online! Tuesday, May 19 at 11am. The mystery book group will meet using Zoom, a digital communications website. An email will be sent out to all members with a link to join the meeting. If you are interested in joining us, please email with the Subject Heading: Join Mystery Book Group. The book we will be discussing is Cold Bath Lane by Lorna Dounaeva. It is available through Google Books and is free to download.
